Candle Making Instructions

Candles for Decoration

Candle making instructions are fairly simple and after a little practice, you’ll be able to make beautiful, unique candles quickly and easily. The first step in candle making instructions is to place the wax that you are going to use in your wax heater. If you don’t have a wax heater, you can use a double broiler system. For most types of wax, you will want to heat it until it reaches about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If you plan on adding any dye or fragrances to your candles, this is when you should add them. Once you have everything added, agitate the container holding the wax to ensure thorough heating and distribution of dye and fragrance.

After you choose a mold for your candles, you should always heat the mold before you pour the hot wax into it. This will better ensure smooth, great looking candles. You can choose whatever type of mold you would like.

When you pour the wax into the mold, remember that the wax will shrink as it gets cooler and you may need to pour in more wax to fill the entire mold. Once you are satisfied with the amount of wax in the mold, your candle will need to be thoroughly cooled before it is removed. Candles can be cooled at room temperature, in the fridge, or by using a cold water bath. How you cool your candles is up to you. By following these simple candle making instructions, you will be able to make your own unique candles!
